Develop a tool for small business users, as well as local and state business development professionals that can be a one-stop-shop for information about NASA support for small business technology development and innovation. The tool could highlight NASA technologies and where the technologies are being produced. You can access several available resources, such as business.usa.gov, searchable engines at the Small Business Administration’s website, and resources at the state and local level. Design ways to drive publicly-available information toward a more user-friendly, intuitive interface that provides fast access for small businesses.

    Background

Information about small business innovation is currently available on the websites of the Small Business Administration and the Department of Labor. BusinessUSA provides a simple interface to provide a list of potential sources of support. Though information is readily available, it may not be easy to access or sift through. You can help simplify the process to help high-tech companies that are looking for support for commercialization through available Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) programs.

    Solution Ideas

Here are some ways for you to frame this solution:

Develop a website portal/interface for small business users that can be a one-stop-shop for information for small business technology development and innovation users, including data on locations of suppliers, products the suppliers provide, years when the supplier provided goods or services. Create an intuitive interface and design, and allow the user to select the various levels of detail.
