  • The International Space Apps Challenge is an annual event, led by NASA, held over two days in cities around the globe with a mission to produce open-source solutions for challenges NASA faces both in space and here on earth. The event is a 48-hour hackathon in which citizens from around the world collaborates and finds solutions to over 50+ challenges released by NASA. By participating in this event, one directly helps NASA in solving the greatest challenges we face today. The event is not just for developers or scientists; in fact technologists, designers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs and students can also participate. All you need to have is a strong intention to bring about a global change and to make a better planet. There is no age restriction for participants, although the focus is mainly on the youth. For the first time, the event is being conducted in Kerala with Kochi as the location. Kochi is one among the three centres in the entire country and the only city in Kerala to host this event. The event at Kochi is conducted at StartUp Village. The event will be conducted worldwide on 12th and 13th April.
     
    Startup Village is a nonprofit business incubator based in Kochi, Kerala that aims to launch 1000 startups over the next 10 years from Kerala. It creates an ecosystem that promotes innovation and provides a platform for youngsters to create cutting edge technology. StartUp Village is the second place in the world with 1Gbps internet connection, after Kansas City of United States. This makes StartUp village an ideal location for hosting the event.
