Allow user to choose region of interest by click on the map view, choose the prefer layer base on supported from GIBS, adjust time frame to collect images. Composite images to a video using AVFoundation or OpenCV and then upload to Youtube and share via socials services: Facebook, Twitter, G+ ... The aim of this project is sharing animation of an world area ( land/ocean/polar/desert..) in order to support education, science, weather forecast, environment. We also want to share the project as a tool to collect NASA data to support other user/application.
The application includes these main tasks: 1/Use API and GDALto collect data from GIBS. 2/ Allow user to chose the time frame, area of interest, layer... 3/ Save image as jpeg and png for user purpose. 4/Image processing to reject cloudy images 5/ Connect the images into a video with extension of .mp4 6/Allow user to share video to social web.
Some sample applications: 1/ Storm tracking 2/ Snow formation and melting tracking. 3/ Polar cape Watching 4/ Tree development in desert in raining season. 5/Air quality monitor and pollution tracking. 6/ As user request.
Further development: - Improve image Processing to have better images. - Combine satellite data with ground-based data to better support the data analysis. - Use Near Real-Time data to better tracking the fast event - Better handle Time frame and coordinator.
