Saving Sandra Bullock is no easy task, especially if she is spiralling away out of control from the international space station. This could potentially happen to a future space tourist. These tourists don't have the required training to operate their suits' jetpacks efficiently; what they do have is their natural hard wired instinct to try balancing themselves out of the spiral. With the aid of wearable technology, we can control the jetpacks using their instinctive balancing gestures.

This project is solving the SpaceT challenge.

Description

We aim to build a safety feature for space suits to help astronauts (especially inexperienced ones) to recover from an out of control spiral from the international space station.

Through wearable technology, we can record the instinctive balancing gestures and translate them into the appropriate counter-acting propulsion from the jetpacks, allowing the astronaut to come back to a stable position and ready to navigate back to safety.
