astronaut-health-monitoring-system
Description
This project aims to monitor and inspect the mental and physical state of the astronaut in real time by analyzing data gathered from sensors attached to his body or spacesuit and send it to the central place for information and visualizations at earth.
Firstly, by building a temperature sensor kit, and by attaching this sensor inside the spacesuit we can measure the temperature for the astronaut and by attaching another one outside the spacesuit we can measure the temperature and relative humidity for the surrounding environment.
Secondly, by designing an EEG circuit that can be attached to the spacesuit along the scalp surface, we can measure the electrical activity of the brain, and to send this data to be analyzed so we can know the mental state of the astronaut and how he feels.
Thirdly, by designing an ECG circuit that can be attached to the spacesuit along the body surface, we can measure the electrical activity of the heart, and to send this data to be analyzed so we can know the physical state of the astronaut, and the heart beating rate. Furthermore, we can analyse the ECG signal to know if the astronaut has any heart diseases, or if the heart muscle has been damaged in specific areas.
Finally, by attaching the microcontroller (Arduino) to the spacesuit we can acquire the signals from the sensors (temperature, EEG, and ECG sensor) and to send these signals to the base (computer) in order to analyze these signals and to visualize them.
