Description

Arduino Based CubeSat Motherboard - UMSATS

An Open-Sourced Arduino based CubeSat motherboard,

What does this mean? Command and Data Handling Based on the Atmel ATSAM3X8E Fully supportable by the Arduino Community on the Arduino Due UHF and VHF radio communications Beacon and a main communications radio AX.25 packets ready for the amateur radio community Power management Power monitoring - MPPT solar cell recharger - www.sparkfun.com/products/12084 To Blaze: We are designing a separate power board with a BMS/MPPT/DCDC system. Power control to systems Attitude Determination and Control System Aligning and pointing the satellite in orbit B-Dot and Simple Vector algorithms Ensure best effort sun pointing External Peripheral Support External payloads I2C, SPI, CAN, Digital and Analog Connect your own "Satellite Shield"

It's open source?! Yes! We're including the schematics, PCB and BOM files! A starting code base ready for your hacking!

So what are we doing this #spaceapps challenge? We're a team at the University of Manitoba Space and Applications Technology Society (UMSATS for short) We'll be rocking through the design and trying to get as much done as possible this weekend No, don't worry -- we've been researching, planning, testing and designing for the last year for the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge (CSDC).
