online-card-game---space-agencies

"Space Agencies" is a multi-player, deck building game of cards which provides a fun and interactive way of learning about the history of human spaceflight through the completion of various landmark missions. This working prototype focuses on NASA history but it is easy to imagine updates for other agencies and themes. The board was designed to provide ample space for the display of visuals and historical, technical or fun facts and the rules are simple enough for a wide range of ages.

Description

Space Agencies This game is made to be fun to play over and over by randomizing the cards available during one game, thus providing never ending new pictures and informations for the player to learn about space.

Game Rules

Goal : Completing space missions at a faster rate than the other players.

Types of cards : 3

  • Resource cards. This is the currency used to buy Technology and Mission cards, existing in value of 1, 2 and 3.
  • Technology cards. They are bonuses to use during your turn.
  • Missions. They are your objective !

Deck : starts at 10 cards each:

  • 7 Resource cards of value 1,
  • 3 Mission cards, representing a few of the historical building blocks of NASA

At your turn, you draw 5 cards from your deck. Your Action and Buy counters start at 1 each. During the Action Phase, you can play as many Technology as the counter allows, and their bonuses are applied. During the Buy Phase, you can buy as many cards as the counter and your current resources allow. Your new cards, along with those you drew during this turn, are put in the discard pile. At your next turn, you draw 5 new cards from your deck. Whenever your deck is empty, shuffle your discard pile and put it on the deck pile. During the game, the number of cards in your deck increases. Which cards to buy is your strategy, keep in mind that owning a lot of mission cards early in the game is a burden when you draw cards, compared with owning a lot of resources or a lot of technology. Each player buys cards from the same piles, and each mission is available only once.

The game stops when all the missions have been realized.
